How to get your arms above your head easily

My main goal is always to support you in your movement practice, no matter what is going on in the world.

Moving with awareness, nuance and detail is the best way I know to generate life affirming energy and let all the feelings move through.

For 2026, I’m going to be doing one “wisdom of the somanauts” post per month, and this is it!

Each one will be little nuggets of discovery from my teaching practice online and here in NYC. This week I’m putting together my obsession with dermatomes and mobile body alignment points. It’s a great example of the things we play with in the weekly dance class.

Play, enjoy!

And last but not least:

Save the date: Saturday, March 28, 2026

I’ll be teaching a full day, live Cranial Nerve Sequencing retreat for embodiment educators of all stripes in Philadelphia.

HERE are all the details and registration.

This workshop is designed for Alexander Technique teachers, somatic professionals, and therapists. It’s hosted by the Alexander Technique Teachers of Greater Philadelphia.

We study and explore each of the cranial nerves, their sense organs, the sensory, motor, and autonomic aspects of their functions.

12 cranial nerves give you twelve different ways to experience the profound influence of the head/neck/back relationship that is central to Alexander Technique practice.

Let your friends in the Philadelphia area know – thanks for spreading the word. There is an additional hybrid live/zoom business development workshop on Sunday, March 29th, “Creating Mission Aligned Offers That Sell.” Go HERE for details and to register.

And…

The ATTGP is offering and entire week of free Alexander Technique classes January 19 – 26; check it out HERE.
