Mobile Body Alignment™
Online Movement Classes - Open
Tuesday Mornings  |  9:00 - 10:15 AM EDT

My MBA™ movement classes are tailored to the abilities and interests of whoever shows up each week. All are welcome, including those with no dance training. Professional dancers do attend, but this is not a professional dance class. There are plenty of those elsewhere! This is a learning journey into your body.

“You can get away from your pain and stiffness automatically, without trying. It doesn’t matter how stiff I am, the work mysteriously motivates movement. Every time I tune in to one of those Mobile Body Alignment Points™, it generates energy and I want to move. It’s crazy! It’s like wait – how did I get out of the stiffness? Even when movement class starts slowly, It’s not boring or repetitive, it’s fascinating and fun.”

- Susan Whitson, Alexander Technique Teacher

Mobile Body Alignment™ has four layers.
Each time we go through a layer of practice it is a new learning experience:

Awareness
Preludes

Stop straining to improve your body. How we pay attention to our body has a huge effect on our felt experience.

Narrow or tight attention = a tight body; fluid and mobile attention = an easy body.

The 6 Awareness Preludes will develop your attentional flexibility and resilience.

 Dermatome
Mapping

Free yourself from learned shape and restrictive posture. Learn the beautiful map of each area of skin innervated by each cranial and spinal nerve.

Get your brain literally wrapped around your body and refresh your body image by increasing volume and dimensionality, increasing circulation and overall health.

Mobile Body Alignment™ Points

Free yourself from over-focus on your body and come alive in space.

Activate effortless and fluid motion by bringing spatial awareness to 17 key points on the surface of your body linking bone, muscle, nerves, and skin in motion.

Cranial Nerve
Sequencing

Improve your underlying breathing patterns and posture by relinquishing excess tension nerve by nerve.

Explore sensory and motor functions of each nerve and each sense organ in your skull and throat to activate a free and delicate articulation of the head and spine, resetting overall coordination throughout your whole body.

“Thank you for the Mobile Body Alignment™ webinar! It was quite helpful — & I’ve reported to our Open Source Forms faculty about all the insights gained...confirming what we too have been discovering.

I also appreciate you and how you have found freedom amidst the constraints of a specific practice (The Alexander Technique). I’m spoiled by Open Source Forms sensitivity in use of language & nuanced mindfulness about how to continually respect & empower participants in their autonomy & their own process.

You’ve discovered, in your own ways, how to remain open to others’ insights & wisdom while imparting your own. Hope to cross paths a lot more! Best wishes for your health, wholeness, sanity & thriving immune system!”
